HR Generalist to Greenpeace Nordic
As the HR Generalist for Greenpeace Nordic, you will be part of a team of three people, all focused on implementing the Greenpeace Nordic’s 3-Year People Plan and contributing towards the Global- and Nordic HR work. The team is responsible for delivering value adding HR services to the organization, and is in an exciting phase of repositioning HR to a strategic function.
This is a full time permanent position based in Stockholm and you will report to Greenpeace Nordic’s HR Director, who is based in Copenhagen.
The role
As the HR Generalist you will be providing daily HR related consultation and assistance for line managers and employees and be the first point of contact in all HR related admin matters.
You will manage employee life cycle events, such as new hires and exits, and monitor compliance with the Nordic labor law and work environment legislation as well as with the Swedish collective agreement. You will partake in and drive HR related projects either regionally or as part of a global team, and liaise with staff- and union representatives when needed.
Examples of main areas that you depending on experience, need and interest will be involved in are: HR operational excellence - e.g. streamlining processes and information, induction programme, work environment initiatives, culture change, training & development, and compensation & benefits.
Tasks involve, but are not limited to:
- Daily consultation and assistance for line managers and employees
- Daily management of errands in the HR Case Management System
- Coordinating practical tasks related to trainings and seminars
- Interface between HR and Finance in salary related matters
- Liaising with external providers eg. regarding pension, insurances and rehabilitation
- Issuing and updating employment contracts
- Recruitment support
- Updating policy documents and intranet content
- HR Project support & management
Background and personal qualities
You have a relevant academic degree in HR studies, Business, Psychology or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in working in a broad HR related work in a Nordic or multisite location environment. You have good understanding of the “HR-year” and related processes, as well as knowledge of the employment legislation in one- or several of the Nordic countries. (Ideally, you have had a focus on learning- and development in previous assignments and would like to continue developing in this area.) You need to be fluent in written and spoken English, Swedish and ideally also Finnish or Norwegian.
To succeed in the role it is important to enjoy a fast-paced workday, and that you enjoy delivering on objectives. You are proactive, with a balanced sense of details and a good ability to organize your work and to be an efficient administrator. You have a good level of self awareness, which helps you to know when to be service minded and when to challenge stakeholders.
You have great communication skills, enjoy problem solving, working in a team and to share your learnings and experiences to benefit the organization. The role requires a high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential matters in a professional way.
Previous experience from working in a non-profit organization is a plus, but not a requirement. You do not need to be an environmental activist, but should share our values and support our cause.
It is also a plus if you have an interest in how innovative/ digital technologies or ways of working can facilitate efficient and timely HR support in a multisite and increasingly global context.
