Greenpeace is looking for a WAREHOUSE CO-WORKER
Greenpeace Nordic is looking for a person with a great sense of order and experience in maintenance and quality status of Greenpeace action equipment to temporary and part time support our Actions Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our Campaigns.
The role is responsible for the safe and non-damaging operation of Greenpeace equipment before it has been checked out of the warehouse storage, and after the time it has been checked in again. It is also responsible for assisting in the design and preparation of Direct Action tactics that contribute to changing public, Government and Corporate behaviour in line with GP Nordics Campaign objectives. Other responsibilities include to ensure the engagement of volunteers in the ongoing work of the warehouse and to ensure a sufficient level of familiarity with equipment by volunteers/activists and smaller production of action tools.
To apply for this position you will need to have experience in logistical coordination, have a driving license, excellent spoken and written communication in English as well as organisational and planning skills. You should also have the ability to work well under pressure, an understanding of health and safety issues relating to the warehouse and Direct Actions, a commitment to the ideals of Greenpeace and an understanding of environmental and peace issues. Applicants should be citizens of an EU member state or have a Swedish work certificate.

This is a temporary, part time position (80%) from August 17th 2015 – July 31st 2016 based in Stockholm.

General description/Purpose of the job:
Assist Warehouse manager to ensure action equipment of Greenpeace Nordic is purchased and replaced according to decisions made in the Nordic Action team also considering the least possible negative environmental impact of Greenpeace operations and equipment.
Assist Warehouse manager to ensure a very high degree of readiness, maintenance and quality status of Greenpeace action equipment including vehicles and boats
Assist Warehouse manager to ensure the engagement of volunteers in the ongoing work of the warehouse to ensure a sufficient level of familiarity with equipment by volunteers/activists
Occasionally help out with logistical issues for minor tasks.
Description of responsibilities:
Applied knowledge & skills
- Assist WH manager for the safe and non-damaging operation of Greenpeace equipment before it has been checked out of the warehouse storage, and after the time it has been checked in again.
- Help out with day to day routines.
-Be a link between the core warehouse volunteer group we got and secondly to make it attractive for newcomers to join.
Communication
- Participate in dialogue, smooth information sharing and skills sharing with the rest of Greenpeace Nordic action unit

- Undertake any other duties, appropriate to the position, as delegated by the line manager
- Commits to and respects the organisation’s policies and core values and accepts responsibility for their practical application.
Education/experience requirements:
- The widest possible spectra of abilities relevant for the job as a warehouse assistant, such as technical knowledge (welding, carpentering, climbing, boating etc), computer skills, communication skills, research skills, human knowledge skills, innovative skills.
